I am a wife, mother, nurse, freelance writer, and artist. Our current vocation affords my husband and me the precious opportunity to travel extensively internationally. Our exposure to many cultures, languages, and ethnic groups have given me plenty of fodder for artistic expression and writing…

When I started my first blog in August 2007 and began, in earnest, reading other blogs, I was surprised and thrilled to discover how popular haiku is, especially with bloggers. Since I love reading and writing all forms of poetry, it seemed natural to start a “just haiku” blog. Thus, “tiny topaz”… tiny topaz words shimmering copper on an amythest sea… my own expression of haiku was born.

Most of the photography is mine.

I love the challenge of poetry: using perfect words in perfect order. Poetry is the distillation of language, or the purest form of literature on earth. It is rich, like honey, and too much will make you sick. But I have found that a little honey sharpens my focus and broadens my horizons.

Just wanted to let you know that we’ve added a link from our haiku site to
    your haiku site.

Our site is called Haiku By Two. We’re two friends who’ve teamed up to
keep a daily haiku blog. We alternate turns posting original haiku. We
also post reviews about haiku-related products and interviews with haiku
    authors.

Check out our links page and find yourself there:

    Happy Haiku-ing! Cheers!
